The Glow-in-the-dark Masjid: Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque

Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is considered as one of the most beautiful mosques in the Asia Pacific and a major landmark and a tourist attraction of Brunei that is located at Bandar Seri Begawan.
The mosque that looks so magnificent at night was completed in 1958. It is Named after Omar Ali Saifuddien III, the 28th Sultan of Brunei who also initiated its construction.
The mosque stands 52m (171 ft) high and can be seen from virtually anywhere in Bandar Seri Begawan, and it’s most recognizable feature is the large main dome that is covered with pure gold.
The main minaret (the part that looks like lighthouse) is the tallest portion and it has an elevator to the top, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, but it is seldom open to public.
